This dish is very very quick to fix. You can prepare this dish in 15 minutes.
1 lb large shrimps
1 tbsp canola oil
3 cloves garlic sliced
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp dry sherry
Salt and pepper to taste
Clean shrimps. If you are using headless shrimps, devein it but pulling the vein from the end where the head was removed. If you feel that you were not able to remove all of the vein, make a half centimeter incision at the middle of the shrimp back. With the tip of a paring knife, slowly pull out the vein. (I like the look of shrimps that have the shell on). With a pair of kitchen shears, trim off the shrimp legs.
In a bowl, dilute the brown sugar and honey in dry sherry and set aside.
Set your stove in medium-high heat and quickly cook the garlic slices in oil. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Toss in your shrimp and cook until the turn slightly orange.
Add the sugar and honey mixture and add the salt and pepper. Continue stirring until the sauce has thickened.
Serve as an appetizer or with steamed rice.
